A complete new leak from Technik News along with some official-looking renders tell an interesting story about Sony’s future ANC headphones: the WH-1000XM5.
As you can see from the renders below, there are small but notable changes in the design from the previous version. Upcoming headphones look a bit cleaner than their predecessors, have larger ear cups, and the headband appears to have a bit more padding. The hinge that holds the bearings has also been renewed. At first glance, these changes will likely contribute to a more comfortable fit.

The power button is now replaced with a slide switch, while the custom button has been replaced with an NC / Ambient button.

Spec-wise, the new iteration will likely provide up to 40 hours of non-stop playback with ANC activated, which is 10 hours longer than the XM4. Expected, the charging time is also increased and the headphones will take 3.5 hours to fully charge.
The source doesn’t mention anything about release times, unfortunately.
