The era of foldable smartphones is now in its fourth year and one of the biggest drawbacks to the vertical hinge versions is the size of the entire device. That will likely change this summer as Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Z Fold4, which weighs just 254 grams.
The information comes from Ice Universe, a well-known leakster with detailed information on the Samsung ecosystem. They claim that the previous rumors about the weight of 258g and 260g are not accurate and the next Fold will be the lightest ever, around 5% lighter than the Z Fold 3.
The lightest foldable in this form factor is currently the Mate Xs 2 – it weighs 255 grams, technically more than the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold4. However, during our hands-on session at the global launch, we determined that weight is not an issue for such a large laptop.
