Samsung has offered a periscope sensor with 10x optical zoom for three consecutive years, starting with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but it looks like that will end next year. Noted informant Ice universe reports that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will only offer 3x and 5x telephoto lenses.
According to the leakster, the S24 Ultra will bring a 10MP 3x telephoto lens and a new 50MP 1/2.52” sensor with 0.7µm pixels that offers 5x optical zoom. Despite the shorter zoom range, the new 50MP telephoto module will likely offer a significant increase in image quality.
We previously learned that the S24 Ultra will feature a new 200MP ISOCELL HP2SX primary sensor with a 1/1.3-inch size and offering 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 native pixel binning, as well as Super Quad autofocus Phase Detection We also expect the same old 12MP ultrawide and front-facing cameras.
