Samsung has updated its Expert RAW app, which brings Astrophoto mode to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold4. It allows phone users to take long exposure photos of stars and constellations, but the quality of the images depends on how clear the skies are and how much pollution there is in your area.

Astrophoto mode is available for the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy S21 trio with Expert RAW version 2.0.09.1, downloadable from Samsung’s Galaxy Store. However, S21 series users must first install the April 2023 security update to use Astrophoto mode. And if they have yet to receive the update, they can check it manually by logging into their phone Settings > Software update menu.
