Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset as a slight upgrade over the regular 8 Gen 1 and the first phones with the new platform arrived in July. Antutu just released its monthly list of the best performing Android phones, and we’re not surprised to see the top two occupied by devices with the new flagship chipset.

The ROG Phone 6 Pro with 18GB of RAM and 512GB of storage scored over 1.1 million points, closely followed by another Asus phone, the Zenfone 9. nubia’s Red Magic 7 completed the podium. becoming the leader among those with the Non Plus Fried Potato.

Antutu added a new ranking this time for the sub-flagship. Two phones with Dimensity 8100 technology are on top: OnePlus 10R and Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G, followed by several Snapdragon 870 devices. We can see that the 8100-Max version inside the OnePlus 10R has a minor advantage over the regular chip.

Finally, in the mid-range segment we only see three different chipsets represented in the top 10 and two of them are closely related: the Snapdragon 778G and 780G. Mediatek’s Dimensity 920 is what kept this from becoming a clean sweep.

The score for each phone is calculated as the average of all results for devices that have at least 1,000 benchmark runs. The memory combination, written next to the model name, is the highest available on the market and is not necessarily responsible for all racing.

The August rankings in the flagship camp should be different as more Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phones reach the minimum number of runs to qualify, including the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Red Magic 7S.
