Asus started its Zenfone series in 2014 and has continued with regular releases reaching a total of 80 devices under the Zenfone line, but it seems that it may end soon. A new report from Taiwanese media TechNews suggests Asus is pulling the plug on the Zenfone series. The report quotes people familiar with the matter as saying that Asus is undergoing an organizational restructuring.

Report: Asus to discontinue Zenfone series

The report states that Asus will discontinue its Zenfone division and transfer employees to the ROG Phone department. Unfortunately, the restructuring process will also lead to a reduction in the number of employees in the PC departments of Taiwan and China. There were plans to move some employees to the Zenfone and ROG Phone teams, but that won’t be the case. Asus hasn’t released an official comment on the matter as of this writing.
