A couple of days ago, the Indian arm of Redmi started its teaser campaign for the Redmi 12, which will be launched in the country on August 1st. The phone has been out in some markets since mid-June but for some reason it is taking its time to reach India.
Either way, it’s still weeks away from the proper presentation, which means there’s plenty of time for teasers. Lots of teasers. Today, Redmi revealed through its official Twitter account that the Redmi 12 will get a new hue for the Indian market. It’s called Moonstone Silver, and in the brand’s own words, it’s “a gorgeous, glorious, unique colorway.”
Presenting the fascinating 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧chè #Redmi12.

Again, the “crystal design” of the upcoming smartphone is emphasized, since a glass back is generally not something to expect at this price point. That said, we have to once again mention the surprising number of similarities between the Redmi 12 and the 2021 Redmi 10. Sure, the design is different, but otherwise… it’s almost as if they’re very close siblings, so it could be why Redmi chooses to constantly remind us of the glass back and not messing around much more.
The brand also released a short teaser video, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s all about the design. Go figure! This takes us through some of the most important iterations of the design language in the Redmi numbered series over the years, and – you guessed it! – it all culminates with the Redmi 12.
THE #RedmiNumberSeries has always had beautiful designs and our latest #Redmi12 with Crystal Glass Design it only raises the standard.
Watch below and witness the evolution of the design!#Redmi12 launch on August 1st.
