Realme GT5 will debut on August 28 and today the brand revealed more details about the upcoming flagship on Weibo. We already knew it will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, but today we have confirmation that it will be the base 3.2GHz version of the Qualcomm platform and not the overclocked version used by Samsung and ZTE.

The premium device will also come in a powerful variant with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, a combination that is becoming increasingly popular in new flagships, particularly in China.

A teaser on Weibo also revealed a Pixelworks X7 display chip to improve video quality.

The Realme GT5 chipset isn’t a big surprise, but the ability for users to adjust CPU clock levels is a real rarity and it’s the first to offer such granular controls. The leaked screenshots revealed an interface where all three clusters could adjust speed independently. Realme confirmed the feature a few hours later via a separate Weibo post.

The device will arrive on Monday, but we also expect to see a Pro variant later this year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The big question is which of these devices will escape the domestic market and if all the interesting features that are being teased by national audiences will be available internationally. We hope to have the answers soon.
