Google Pixel Fold is the latest device to get the PBK reviews disassembly treatment and it is particularly interesting to be the first foldable from Google.

The disassembly process begins by removing the SIM tray and applying heat to the back and screen of the cover which loosens the adhesive. The guest first pry up the backplate and cover screen, then reveal the inside of the foldout. There are a bunch of screws covering the flex cable that attaches to the screen that need to be removed.

We then see the vibration motor, the speaker assembly, the front cam and the double batteries. Google hasn’t provided pull tabs which makes the battery removal process a bit more cumbersome. The smaller 1,489mAh battery cell is surrounded by a substantial copper cooling plate that is part of the motherboard. Pixel Fold ends with a 6.5/10 repairability score.
