The Oppo Reno8 series released in China in May was rumored to debut in India on July 18. Well, that rumor has turned out to be true since Oppo announced today that the Reno8 lineup will be introduced in India on July 18th at 6pm local time. However, it’s still unclear whether Oppo will host a field launch event or go to a virtual one considering the rise in COVID-19 cases in the world’s second largest smartphone market. Oppo told us that they are still considering whether to organize an event in person or not.
The Reno8 series consists of vanilla, Pro and Pro + models in China, while Europe has a Lite variant. However, Oppo will only bring the Reno8 and Reno8 Pro to India on July 18, and judging by the images and other details shared by Oppo, it appears that the Reno8 Pro coming to India is a renamed Reno8 Pro + available in China.
If true, the Indian Reno8 Pro will come with the Dimensity 8100-Max SoC, 6.7-inch FullHD + 120Hz AMOLED screen, 50MP triple camera, 32MP selfie camera, and a 4,500mAh battery with charging. 80W. While we await more details from Oppo on the Indian Reno8 and Reno8 Pro, the company has confirmed that both smartphones will have two color options in India. Reno8 vanilla will be available in Glazed Green and Glazed Black shades, while the Pro version will be offered in Shimmering Gold and Shimmering Black shades.
