If we count all the regional variants and regional names, Oppo’s Reno8 family is already quite large, with seven devices. But it wouldn’t suit the Rhine8 line, now would it be? So, you guessed it, an eighth Reno8 should soon join everyone else in Oppo’s increasingly confusing mid-range portfolio.

We are talking about the Reno8 4G, not to be confused with the already official Reno8, which has 5G support. The upcoming device leaked today in the official looking image you can see below. It definitely retains some of the design elements that make it recognizable as a Reno. There will be two color options, apparently, this “Dawnlight Gold” and a black.

Oppo Reno8 4G loses in `` Dawnlight Gold '', it looks like a small upgrade of the Reno7 4G

Specs-wise, we should expect the Snapdragon 680 SoC to power things up, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone has a 4,500mAh battery with 33W charging and a triple rear camera system with a 64MP primary sensor and a pair of largely decorative 2MP, most likely a macro cam and depth sensor. Selfies should be taken care of by a close-up 32MP snapper.

Reno8 4G is rumored to actually share most of its specs with its predecessor, the Reno7 4G, which launched in April. That includes the 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED touchscreen, presumably. So this is another very small update, which is becoming the norm in 2022 for the mid-range, as you have no doubt noticed. The phone is expected to be launched in “selected markets”, including India will be one. We will let you know when we know more.
