introduction

The Reno 10 series launched in China in May and now Oppo is taking the family internationally, starting in Malaysia. The model should also gradually be extended to European countries. There are a total of three Reno 10 models: the vanilla, the Pro and the Pro+. At first glance, it is worth clarifying that international models are somewhat different from Chinese ones. Specifically, the vanilla and the Pro have slightly different specs, while the Pro+ is the same.

The Malaysian Reno10 Pro is essentially an upper mid-range device based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. In contrast, the Chinese model uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset. The Chinese model appears to have a slightly better and larger 6.74-inch display, but that of the international version is by no means shabby. It measures 6.7 inches, has 10-bit color with HDR10+ support, and a 120Hz refresh rate with an advertised peak brightness of 950 nits.

The charging speed of the international variant has also been reduced slightly from 100W in the Chinese version to 80W. The battery capacity is the same at 4,600mAh. The international variant also has slightly less RAM at 12GB instead of 16GB. Also, storage is of the slower UFS 2.2 variety instead of UFS 3.1.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review

One thing that hasn’t been downgraded is the impressive camera setup on paper. The Reno10 Pro configuration includes a 50MP main camera (with OIS), 32MP telephoto and 8MP ultrawide cameras. There is a 32MP selfie camera on the front.

But we will come to all of this. First, let’s open the Oppo Reno10 Pro box.

Unpacking

The Reno10 Pro comes in a rather thick and sturdy two-piece cardboard box. The color scheme of the box is a little plain in our opinion, but that’s kind of nitpicking. The important thing is that the retail packaging does its job of protecting the phone perfectly.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review

There’s not much to talk about in terms of accessories. The Reno10 Pro comes with a charger and a bundled USB Type-A to Type-C cable. That’s it, though, no case or anything like that. The phone has a pre-applied plastic screen protector.
