The Oppo K10 launched a month ago, a 4G phone powered by a Snapdragon 680. Now the company has shifted its focus to launching two 5G models: the K10 5G and the K10 Pro 5G. The official website in China is already showcasing the designs and some key specs, the full reveal will take place on April 24th.

The Oppo K10 5G has the same overall design as the 4G model, although the camera bump appears more prominent. We will return to the camera as there is no official information about it yet.

The phone will be powered by a MediaTek 8000 Max. The “Max” moniker suggests this is a custom version of the 8000 chip. We don’t know the extent of the customizations, but Dimensity 1200-Max has added some extra AI features. So, we’re probably looking at 4x Cortex-A78 @ 2.75 GHz + 4x A55 @ 2.0 GHz CPU and a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU.

The GPU and display driver support high refresh rates, which is taken advantage of as the K10 5G will have a 120Hz display. The phone has gaming leanings, so it features an X-axis linear motor for the haptic feedback. Oppo reached out to Razer’s experts to fine-tune the feedback and give the on-screen controls a more satisfying click.

The Redmi K10 Pro 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Not quite the latest from Qualcomm, but it is still one of its most powerful chips, which makes it something of a flagship.

The premium hardware will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, a combination that was first used in the Find X5 Pro and is coming to many other Oppos as well.

The camera will be equipped with the Sony IMX766 50MP (1 / 1.56 ”) sensor in the main camera, complete with OIS. It will be joined by an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro cam. On the front, a 16 MP selfie camera. This sounds (and looks) like a refurbished Realme GT2 (which has a 65W charging).

The IMX766 sensor was used in the Reno7 models, however none of them made it as high as a Snapdragon 888, so the K10 Pro 5G will sit above them in the line-up. Another related model is the Q5 Pro, also with a 5,000mAh battery and 80W charging, but will use an older Snapdragon 870 chipset.

That’s all for official information, except to reiterate that the launch in China is scheduled for April 24 (Sunday). Now let’s delve into the unofficial information revealed by TENAA.

The Oppo K10 5G is expected to have a 6.59 “(120 Hz) LTPS LCD, a 64 + 8 + 2 MP rear camera and a 16 MP front camera and a 5,000 mAh battery (charging rate to be defined). The memory configurations we’ve seen so far are 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage.

The Oppo K10 Pro 5G is expected to have a 6.62-inch AMOLED (FHD +) display. Like its sibling, it should have 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage. We haven’t seen details on the display’s refresh rate, but we’d be surprised if it was 60Hz.

More details coming this week.
