The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro was announced today with many exciting features: up to 24GB RAM, 150W fast charging and a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The new smartphone is the first in the world with nearly 10,000 sq mm cooling solutions , thanks to a new vapor chamber design developed by OnePlus.

The front of the Ace 2 Pro is a 6.74-inch 10-bit AMOLED with a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz screen refresh rate and can reach a brightness of 1,600 nits in certain scenarios. It also comes with 100% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB color gamut, Always-On Display feature, and 93.9% screen-to-body ratio.

The Qualcomm chipset is not new in the OnePlus family but it represents an improvement over the Ace 2. It offers an increase in CPU and GPU performance while reducing its power consumption and is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, perfectly combined in three variants.

The vapor chamber of the Ace 2 Pro now features dual circulation heat dissipation, increasing the total area to 9,140 sq mm. This includes multiple layers of graphite and thermal gel, both of which are superconductive materials, allowing heat to disperse more quickly and not overheat the inside of the device.

OnePlus hasn’t launched the phone as a gaming headset, but there’s a lot of talk about how good it is for mobile gaming. The entire device is wrapped in metal to act as antennas, which is nothing new, but the Ace 2 Pro has at least 15 different elements that can act as antennas, and there are some software improvements in Wi-Fi stability as well. Also, at least 100 games support a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Ace 2 Pro isn’t big on cameras: It has a 50MP main camera with PDAF and OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro shooter on the back. Nothing spectacular on the front either: a 16MP Samsung sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

OnePlus has instead decided to go big with charging. 150W is nothing new in the company’s portfolio, as the Ace Pro also supported the same speeds, but it’s still impressive in a world with flagships launched with double-digit standards. 0 to 100% is said to take 17% with the proprietary SuperVOOC charger, and the phone can also charge with any 45W PD adapter.

The Ace 2 Pro has a SuperVOOC S power management chip that controls the screen, charging speed and temperature, and also has a “long-term charging protection” guarantee. The operating system of the phone is Color OS 3.1 on Android 13.

It is available in two colors: Aurora Green and Titanium Grey. Prices start at CNY 2,999 ($410/€375), but this price is for the 12/256GB variant. The 16/512GB costs CNY 3,399 ($465 / €425) and Genshin Impact fans can get a Paimon-branded adapter and case for an extra CNY 200 for a limited edition box set. The powerful 24GB RAM version comes with 1TB of storage for CNY 3,999 ($550 / €500).

The first sale is scheduled for next Wednesday, August 23, but the limited edition arrives seven days later. The launch is only in China, and seeing how the first Ace Pro was relaunched as the OnePlus 10T, we can only hope that this device will soon go global as the OnePlus 11T.
