OnePlus is one of the few big-name smartphone brands left without a foldable device in its portfolio, but that is about to change with the upcoming announcement of the OnePlus Fold or OnePlus Open, as recently speculated. The device’s official name is still under wraps, but it’s expected to debut in August at a special event in New York City, and we’ve rounded up the most up-to-date leaks and rumors in one place.

Project

The OnePlus Fold is expected to come with an outward folding design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and vivo X Fold2. A recent series of CAD-based renderings shared by @OnLeaks they show a tall cover display and a larger internal panel.

The OnePlus Fold offers elegant metal sides and a textured back with a leather-like finish. The sides also sport a fingerprint scanner built into the power button and the fan-favorite alert slider on the left side.

Specifications

Moving on to the specs department, the OnePlus Fold will house a 6.3-inch AMOLED coverage screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The outward-facing panel is also expected to house a 20MP selfie camera housed within a centered cutout.

Prices and availability

Price and availability are the two biggest question marks regarding the OnePlus Fold with no real leaks being published so far. As a horizontally foldable device with flagship specs, we should expect a price tag of $1,500 to $1,800 just like the Galaxy Z Folds and Pixel Folds of the world.
