OnePlus today officially confirmed that it will launch its first foldable flagship smartphone. The phone will be released in the second half of 2023.

“Our first foldable phone will deliver the unique OnePlus experience that’s fast and smooth. It must be a flagship phone that is not satisfied because of its foldable shape, in terms of industrial design, mechanical technology and other aspects. We want to launch a device that aims to be the flagship experience of today’s foldable market. said Kinder Liu, President and COO of OnePlus during the company’s MWC roundtable.
Speaking to TechCrunch, Liu indicated that the foldout will be in the form factor of a book, meaning more along the lines of the Galaxy Z Fold rather than the Galaxy Z Flip. Whether it will be a brand new device or perhaps a modified and rebranded version of the Oppo Find N2 remains to be seen.
The company had no more to say at the time nor did it have any images to share. The best look we have of this device is potentially the teaser image above of the OnePlus 11 global launch, which narrows the launch window to Q3 2023. We’ll then see what the company has in store for us.
