Series number Honor has a twice-yearly release schedule and it’s been six months since the launch of Series 60. Signs that the sequel is almost here include a new 3C-certified device, which revealed battery stats, while the entries filled in more blanks.

FNE-AN00 is one of the Honor 70 series models, insiders say. It is unclear which, however, we expect the Honor 70, 70 Pro and 70 Pro + in this generation. The 60 series has reached the “Pro” level, so this time around we should see a real flagship.

As for the AN00, it will have a 4,800mAh battery and will support 66W fast charging (11V at 6A). These are essentially the same specs as the Honor 60/60 Pro. There is talk of a faster charger, but it will be exclusive to the Pro +.

According to rumors, the Honor 70 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 (which could be announced next week). It will have an AMOMLED panel made by BOE, 10 bit 120Hz. And it will feature a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra wide angle and a 2MP auxiliary module. Chipset aside, it sounds pretty close to the Vanilla 60 model.

The Honor 70 Pro is expected to upgrade to Team MediaTek with a Dimensity 8100 chipset. It will upgrade to an LTPO panel (1-120Hz) and change the camera makeup to a main 50MP (IMX766), 50MP super ultra wide angle and a 8 MP camera with OIS (telephoto?). The batteries of the 70 and 70 Pro should be the 4,800mAh / 66W seen in the 3C certification.

The Honor 70 Pro + should be a real highlight. It is expected to use the Dimensity 9000 chipset and will support 100W fast charging (with battery capacity dropping slightly to 4,600mAh). The fourth camera will go up to a 12MP sensor, but its function is still unknown (again, likely a telephoto lens).

Honor has confirmed that the Magic4 series will go global on May 12 (tomorrow), however the Honor 70 series is unlikely to attend that event. We should start seeing a lot of teasers as the launch approaches – the Honor 60 is an important part of the company’s meteoric rise in its home market, so the launch of the 70 series should come with hype.
