Nothing by Carl Pei unveiled its first smartphone last month, dubbed Nothing Phone (1). It runs on the out-of-the-box Android 12-based Nothing operating system, which is a near-stock version of Android. And if you thought that meant the stable Android 13 would be coming to the phone (1) this year, then a disappointment awaits you.

Nothing said that the Android 13 update for the Phone (1) will only arrive in the first half of 2023, which is anytime between January and June. However, the company will continue to release software updates for the phone (1) to improve the user experience.

“We are always working hard to improve the Phone 1 user experience. To ensure this, OS updates will be made available for regular download. As for Android 13, this will launch for Phone 1 users in the first half of 2023. Before release, we want to fine-tune the software update with Nothing’s hardware. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more information, “Nothing said.
