Motorola is currently working on its next generation foldable smartphone, which we will tentatively call Razr 3. This will launch at some point in the near future and is confirmed to be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This means it will be Motorola’s first high-end foldout.

There are other updates as well, especially in the camera department, but if we follow a new rumor out of China, there will also be areas where the new Razr is no better than its predecessors. And one such problem area is battery capacity.

According to a reliable source in the past (but not always), the Razr 3 will come with a 2,800mAh battery. It’s the same capacity as the 2020 Razr 5G, its direct predecessor. And that’s not much.

For comparison, note that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is said to boast a 3,700mAh cell in a similar body – we’re talking about it as it will be the main competitor to the Razr 3. The Flip3 currently on sale also has a 3,300mAh battery. mAh – 500 mAh more than the next Razr, and still not enough to last a day on one charge.

So, if you want to buy Motorola’s next foldable device, be prepared for plenty of refills. Hopefully it will be fast. Battery capacity aside, this rumor reiterates some previously leaked specs: the 6.7 “FHD + 120Hz flexible OLED display with a 32MP selfie camera built into a center hole, a 50MP main camera with sensor 1 / 1.5 “, a secondary (probably ultrawide) 13 MP camera and 12 GB of RAM.
