The Vanilla Moto G53 recently dropped by the office for a complete overhaul. The budget device made us want a little more in terms of value. It seemed that Motorola had sacrificed a little too much in terms of specifications to offer 5G on a budget. According to a listing in the Google Play Console, the company will be taking at least one more stab at a budget 5G device with what appears to be a 5G Moto G53s on the way.

The list doesn’t reveal too much, but there are some specs included. The phone will be based on the Qualcomm SM4350 chipset, which is the Snapdragon 480. Not the 480+ used by the G53, but rather the slightly older variant that still offers two Cortex-A76s, plus six Cortex-A55 CPU cores, with the ones large ones are clocked slightly lower. The Adreno 619 GPU is also the same, as is the ISP and the integrated X51 5G modem.

The display resolution on the G53s 5G is listed as 720 x 1600 pixels, the same as the vanilla G53. Hopefully, that means the 120Hz refresh rate will carry over as well. The unit listed on the Google Play Console appears to have 4GB of RAM, but a 6GB or even 8GB variant may also be available, just like on the regular G53.

The source has no information on battery capacity, but we do know that the regular G53 has 5,000mAh paired with 10W very slow charging in the global version. If we assume that the G53s 5G will also borrow cameras from its sibling, these include a 50MP main snapper and a 2MP macro on the rear with an 8MP or 16MP selfie camera, depending on the region.

We’ll keep an eye out for any further news regarding the Moto G53s 5G as it becomes available.
