Both the Pixel 6 and 7 were priced at $600 at launch, both the Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro were $900. So how much will the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro cost? Well, the Pixel 7a has already set a precedent of $50 more than the 6a, so it might be wishful thinking to say that the Pixel 8 series will stick to the $600 and $900 price points.

Yogesh Brar reports that the Pixel 8 will cost $650 or $700, which is a $50-$100 price increase over the 2022 model. This is for the same base memory configuration with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage space.

The Pixel 8 will bring some improvements like a brighter (albeit slightly smaller) 120Hz display. Apparently, it will also feature an ultrasonic fingerprint reader instead of an optical one.

Brar also confirms the specifications leaked so far, including changes to the battery system: a slightly larger 4,485mAh with 24W wired and 12W Qi wireless, compared to 4,355mAh with 20/20W charging (note that non-Qi wireless charging can go up to 20W according to some sources). It’s unclear whether the Pixel 8 Pro will get a price bump as well — older Pro models already cost $300 more than their vanilla siblings. Please note that these are US prices only, the situation in other regions may be different.

Brar notes that we can expect the Pixel 8 series to launch in early October (just like the Pixel 7 series last year).
