A week after unveiling India’s cheapest 5G phone, Lava announces a model for those who agree with 4G for a little while longer: Lava Yuva Pro will soon be available for just ₹ 7,800 (this is converted to $ 95 / € 98). That makes it cheaper than the similar July Lava Blaze (that cost ₹ 8,700).
Lava Yuva Pro
Yuva Pro is not an advanced phone, but it covers all needs. It has two sim slots and a microSD for cards up to 512GB. The phone itself has 32GB onboard plus 3GB of RAM.
It is powered by an unnamed MediaTek Helio chipset and runs Android 12. On the front is a 6.52 inch display with HD + (20: 9) resolution, not the sharpest but it is an IPS panel.
Inside is the 8 MP selfie camera, on the back we find the 13 MP main camera (and two auxiliary modules). There are no words about video recording, so let’s assume it’s limited to 1080p.
The fingerprint reader is not on the back (like on the Blaze Pro), it is side mounted instead (it is slower, however, it takes 0.65 seconds to unlock the phone compared to 0.35 seconds on the Blaze Pro).
Yuva Pro runs on a large 5,000mAh battery, which is enough for over 5 hours of YouTube video watching. Charging is extremely slow, however, at 10W the phone needs 3 hours to reach 100%.
In addition to streaming, other means of entertainment are available: you can connect headphones to the 3.5mm jack and listen to local MP3s or turn on the FM radio. Your phone can act as a hotspot or connect to a local Wi-Fi 5 (ac) network.
