The iPhone 15 series went up for pre-order in the first wave of countries last Friday, and now we have some early estimates on how things are going. Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is attracting the majority of consumer attention and is outpacing the initial demand of last year’s iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Demand for the entry level iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is on par with last year’s iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. Looking at the iPhone 15 Pro, Kuo suggests demand will be lower this year as more users seek the upgraded camera experience on the larger Pro Max model.
Wait times for the iPhone 15 Pro Max are “significantly” longer than last year’s 14 Pro Max, not only due to increased demand, but also due to ongoing manufacturing challenges and a tight production schedule modified. Finally, Kuo expects the iPhone 15 series to reach a total of 80 million shipments by the end of the year.
