Apple today released iOS 16.4.1 and iPadOS 16.4.1 to the public, and your iPhone or iPad may have already notified you of its availability, as Apple pushes those updates to everyone at once. You should probably install the update as soon as possible, as it includes fixes for a couple of actively exploited vulnerabilities.
The IOSurfaceAccelerator vulnerability allowed an app to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges, while the WebKit vulnerability could allow maliciously crafted web content to execute code.
The release also fixes an issue that caused Siri to become unresponsive in some cases, and adds skin tone variations for the pushing hands emoji.
This definitely isn’t the biggest update out there, but it’s important to get it anyway so you aren’t exposed to any of the aforementioned vulnerabilities.
