Huawei today presented its latest Pocket S folding. Alongside it, the Chinese also unveiled a new wearable: Watch GT Cyber with replaceable body and straps and a new version of the MateStation X with a 12th generation Intel chipset.
Huawei Watch GT Cyber
The smartwatch is unlike any other wearable we’ve seen. The circular body has a dial on the right side and can be detached from the shell and straps, allowing for unprecedented customization.
It mostly relies on the magnets to stay in place, but there are also some mechanical parts that lock together.
There are three shell versions: Urban, Sports and Fashion. All have a 1.32 ”circular AMOLED with a resolution of 466 x 466 and 352 PPI. The first and third designs have a nanocrystalline ceramic and 316L stainless steel body, while the sporty one is made from composite fiber materials.
The weight is 77 grams, 59 grams and 58 grams respectively, and this includes both the watch and the strap.
Huawei Watch GT Cyber is a familiar affair on the inside: a well-known HarmonyOS-based UI, over 100 sports modes, the latest and best Huawei technology for sleep monitoring, SpO2 monitoring, and heart rate measurements. . It has its own GPS, supports NFC, and connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth.
Huawei has equipped the watch with a wireless charging coil on any Qi charger. It claims it can last for 4 days of heavy use, while more moderate users will spend around 7 days on a single charge.
Huawei Watch GT Cyber Sport, Fashion and Urban
The Sport variant is available with black or white shells and costs CNY1,288. Choosing Fashion (in blue or white) or Urban (in Morning Yellow or Obsidian Black) will set you back CNY1,488. The sale is already live on the Huawei China website, as well as on major online retailers such as Vmall and JD.
Huawei MateStation X 2023
Huawei’s all-in-one PC was first introduced in early 2022, followed by a global release at MWC 2022 in Barcelona in late February. Its original version was powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor, but now it gets a new chip.
The new MateStation X gets the Intel Core i9-12900H, which is newer, faster and with more cores that bring better efficiency.
The screen is an IPS touch LCD with a diagonal of 28.2 ”and a resolution of 3840 x 2560 pixels. We have already reviewed the product and determined that the display is amazing in terms of brightness and color accuracy.
Huawei’s new MateStation X maintains 16GB of RAM, as well as Huawei PC Manager which allows it to seamlessly connect to HarmonyOS and EMUI smartphones.
Unfortunately, the CPU change also comes with a higher price tag: 11,999 CNY ($ 1,650 / € 1,665), compared to 9,999 CNY on the previous model when it comes to the 512GB storage versions. 1 TB is CNY 12,999 ($ 1,785 / € 1,805).
Sales have already started at major online retailers in China, as well as Huawei’s Vmall.
