Huawei CEO Richard Yu is leading his company through challenging times, but neither he nor his team have lost their passion for photography. The CEO posted this “random photo” from an unnamed upcoming phone:

Yu didn’t try to hide which phone it is, the Weibo post is labeled “from Huawei P60 Pro”. Presumably this is a telephoto image, just like last week’s batch of images.

This particular camera is said to feature a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor and a 3.5x magnification lens. Interestingly, this sensor would allegedly have an RYYB color filter, a Huawei specialty for a long time.

As for the other cameras, they should be a pair of 50MP modules: a Sony IMX888 in the main one and an IMX858 in the ultra wide angle. Unconfirmed specs claim a 6.6-inch QHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate (PWM dimming at 1,920Hz), a 5,000mAh battery with 100W charging, IP68 rating, and HarmonyOS 3.0.

The first report stated that the phone will use a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, although later leaks pointed to 8 Gen 2 instead (note: both cases are only 4G chips due to trading restrictions) .

A vanilla Huawei P60 is also expected, which should switch to a 52 + 50 + 16 MP configuration (IMX789 main, IMX858 ultra wide and IMX351 for the tele module).

Going back to the camera sample shared by the Huawei CEO, it’s a really tough shot: the phone had enough dynamic range for not only the artificially lit building against a pitch-black background, but it also managed to resolve detail in the moon. . We’re not buying the “random picture” comment, however it’s pretty flexible.

Huawei is expected to make the P60 series official later this month.
