Huawei has launched HarmonyOS 4, aiming to unify the operating system used in smartphones, televisions and even cars.

Today the company announced that it has reached 100 million downloads of the new operating system. It includes both newly purchased and upgraded devices and occurred in exactly 87 days, averaging more than 1.1 million installs per day.

Huawei celebrates 100 million devices with HarmonyOS 4

The announcement on Weibo, both on Huawei and Harmony OS accounts, was rather modest without too much fanfare. The operating system is clearly the path this company is taking for the future, but we will be if it has a chance to achieve some kind of success with it in the Western smartphone markets.

Huawei initially released a list of 69 smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs that will receive HarmonyOS 4. However, we expect a separate list of devices available globally once the company finishes local updates. So far, only wearable devices like Huawei Watch GT 4 are sold overseas with HarmonyOS 4, and software updates for devices on HarmonyOS 3 are practically non-existent.
