Huawei held a special online event where it announced four new laptops and a new monitor. All new laptops are powered by 12 generation Intel processors and are configured with 16GB of RAM and at least 512GB of storage.
Huawei MateBook 16s
Huawei MateBook 16s is a real powerhouse. Built around a 16-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with 3: 2 aspect, 2520x1680px resolution, 300 nits of brightness and 1500: 1 contrast. It supports 100% sRGB and is calibrated with an average Delta E of less than 1.
Buyers can choose from 12th Generation Intel H processors: 12 cores (4 performance, 8 efficiency), 16 threads i5-12500H, 14 cores (6 performance, 8 efficiency), 20 threads i7-12700H, and the i9- 12900H 14-core (6 performance, 8 efficiency), 20 threads. Graphics are handled by the Intel Iris Xe, as there is no dedicated GPU. You can choose between 512GB or 1TB of NVMe PCIe storage and 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM.
The MateBook 16s has an 84 Wh battery and 135 W charger in the box.
The Huawei MateBook 16s costs CNY 6,999 for the i5 model, CNY 7,999 for the i7 and CNY 9,999 for the top of the range i9.
Huawei MateBook D16
The MateBook D16 has the same 16-inch diagonal, but with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display offers a resolution of 1920x1200px, a maximum brightness of 300 nits, a 100% sRGB coverage and a contrast of 1200: 1. There is no touch support here.
It comes with a choice of the i7-12700H or i5-12500H processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB of NVMe PCIe storage.
The MateBook D16 has a 60 Wh battery and a 65 W charger in the box.
The MateBook D16 costs CNY 5,699 for the i5 model and CNY 6,699 for the i7 model. Pre-orders begin today, with the laptop shipping on June 6th.
Huawei MateBook 14 2022
The MateBook 14 has a 14-inch 3: 2 2160x1440px display with a maximum brightness of 300 nits, 1500: 1 contrast, and touch functionality.
There are two processors to choose from: 12 cores (4 performance, 8 efficiency), 16 i7-1260P threads and 12 cores (4 performance, 8 efficiency), 16 i5-1240P threads. The GPU is once again the Intel Iris Xe, and the storage and RAM are 512 GB NVMe and 16 LPDDR4x respectively.
The MateBook 14 2022 uses a 56 Wh battery and has a 65 W charger in the box.
The MateBook 14 2022 costs CNY 6,099 for the i5 model and CNY 6,999 for the i7 model.
Huawei MateBook D14 2022
The MateBook D14 2022 packs a 14-inch 16: 9 display with 1920x1080px resolution. It maxes out at 300 nits, has a contrast ratio of 1000: 1, and 100% sRGB coverage.
The processors, RAM, memory, battery size and charger are the same as in the MateBook 14 2022.
The MateBook D14 2022 starts at CNY 5,299 for the i5 model and goes up to CNY 5,999 for the i7 model.
Huawei Mate View SE
MateView SE is Huawei’s latest MateView monitor. Its IPS LCD panel has a diagonal of 23.8 inches and a 16: 9 aspect with a resolution of 1920x1080px. The maximum brightness is 250 nits, the contrast ratio is 1000: 1 and you get a respectable 90% coverage of the P3 color gamut and 100% of the sRGB space. Huawei claims that the monitor comes pre-calibrated with an average Delta E of less than 2.
MateView SE supports AMD FreeSync and peaks at 75Hz. The monitor can go fully vertical, rise and fall 110mm, and tilt and rotate up to 18 degrees.
As for the ports, there is an HDMI, a Display Port and the power connector, sadly there is no USB-C. There is an eBook mode, which mimicked the white of the paper for less eye strain.
Huawei MateView SE will launch at CNY 799.
