Honor unveiled the Snapdragon 680-powered X7 in March, and it appears the company will soon follow up with an “a” variant, specs and images of which have been leaked online.
The Honor X7a, like the X7, is built around an HD+ display, but is a bit smaller (6.7″ vs 6.74″) and has a lower screen refresh rate (60Hz vs 90Hz) . The screen has a notch for the 8MP selfie shooter, but we don’t know if it has the same front-facing camera specs as the X7.
Around the back, the Honor X7a has a quad-camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary unit, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP telephoto. The smartphone has the Helio G37 SoC at the helm with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It runs Android 12 out of the box and packs a 5,230mAh battery, which is 230mAh larger than the cell in the X7. However, it is not clear whether the charging speed remains the same as the X7 (22.5W) or if it is different.
The source claims that the Honor X7a, which will be cheaper than the X7, weighs 196g and features a side-mounted fingerprint reader. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and will be offered in two colors: Midnight Black and Ocean Blue.
