According to a recently leaked Google smartphone launch roadmap, the Pixel 7a is expected to go official “around April or May” — most likely the announcement will come during the company’s annual developer conference called I/O, which takes place in May.

As we get closer, more and more leaks of the device start appearing, including today’s one, which is a fuzzy hands-on video seemingly originating in Vietnam. We base this assumption on the unit depicted having its language set to Vietnamese. Check it out for yourself, but keep in mind that the blur is real:

The official-looking renders of the Pixel 7a were released last November, portraying a device that borrows heavily in the design department from the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, as it should be considering they share most of their names. The front, however, is where you can tell this is the cheapest of the bunch. Those bezels are pretty shocking.

The unit handled in this video has a 90Hz screen, as evidenced by the switch shown in Settings, and there’s dual-SIM support as well. That’s all we can say from this leak. According to past rumors, the Pixel 7a will have an FHD+ screen, dual rear cameras, support for wireless charging (but limited to 5W), and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
