Yesterday, Apple confirmed lower production capacity for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns in Zhengzhou, China. Now Bloomberg News reports that production of the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus is reduced by 3 million units to 87 million from the initial goal of 90 million. The report cites people familiar with the matter.
An earlier report suggests the iPhone 14 Plus got off to a pretty bad start with Apple looking to supply partners to stop manufacturing its more affordable big-screen iPhone. Even the regular iPhone 14 is not doing as well as Apple hoped according to the latest reports with slowing demand in several markets with a notable drop in China.
