After weeks of teasing, Asus finally unveiled ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate, the Dimensity-powered counterparts to the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro. To squeeze every last bit of performance out of the Mediatek chipset, Asus has designed a cooling system. revolutionary also for its high standards.

Both 6D and 6D Ultimate work with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset. One of the differences between the standard 6D and the Ultimate variant is the available memory. The Ultimate goes up to 16GB / 512GB, while the Standard Edition goes up to 16GB / 256GB.
The two phones share the 6.78-inch OLED panel with 10-bit color depth, 165Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 + functionality – it’s also the same as the original ROG Phone 6 line.
The photographic sector remains unchanged: 50MP 1 / 1.56 “sensor with 1.0µm pixels and f / 1.9 lens on the main unit flanked by 13 MP f / 2.2, ultrawide shooter and 5MP macro camera. The selfie camera has a sensor of 12MP.
The battery capacity is also the same: 6,000mAh supporting up to 65W of fast charging via USB Power Delivery.
The design is also essentially unchanged. The 6D Ultimate edition has a ROG Vision color PMOLED display on the back, while the standard one is content with an RGB LED illuminated ROG logo.
Accessories for the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro are also compatible with the new 6D and 6D Ultimate.
However, the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate comes with a unique AeroActive portal on the back. The AeroActive portal offers a direct path to the phone’s internal cooling components with a motorized hinge. Lifts the assembly and automatically opens the airway when the AeroActive Cooler 6 is connected. This allows the fan to dissipate heat much more efficiently, leading to unprecedented sustained performance.

Asus offers the ROG Phone 6D duo only in a single space gray color. The vanilla 6D starts at £ 799 in the UK while the Ultimate alteration costs at least £ 1,199 but comes bundled with an AeroActive Cooler 6 accessory, which costs around € 89.
