CD Projekt Red has released official modding tools for Cyberpunk 2077, giving fans the opportunity to create mods for the PC version of the title.
The modding pack offers players “the tools and resources that will help you modify and create your experiences in the world of Cyberpunk 2077”. At least, that’s according to the mod support page for the game.
However, modders looking to be able to easily edit game files and create complex mods are likely to be disappointed. Currently released mod support includes only limited features, such as metadata list and data settings.
The developer notes that the tools will be updated regularly, often to coincide with game patches to ensure that the software remains compatible and functional.
Fans have already started creating mods for Cybperunk 2077, although many of them are quite simple. The vast majority seem to focus on fixing various issues with the game that CD Projekt Red has not yet fixed.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated games of 2020. However, it faced widespread criticism for a number of issues that primarily affected the console version of the game. But despite that, Cyberpunk 2077 was a huge financial success, selling over 13 million copies.
