The Legendary Cover Pokemon.

Also exist legendary cover pokemon, which represent the most powerful and rare creature within each game. In the differences between Pokemon Scarlet and Purple the monsters are Koraidon and Miraidon respectively.

Koraidon is a legendary pokemon about which there is not much information. His name is made up of the words Ancient (korai in Japanese), mount (ride in English) and don (the ending of dinosaurs).

In the case of Miraidon, there isn’t much information either, but we do have the data on which his name is built. Future (mirai in Japanese), ride (ride in English) and don (the ending for dinosaurs).

Different teachers for the start of the adventure

The beginning of each pokemon adventure has a leading professor, who is the one who entrusts us with the extensive mission of completing the pokedex. Among the differences between Pokemon Scarlet and Purple we find an event never seen before in the saga: a different teacher depending on the game. Goodbye Professor Oak.

In Pokemon Scarlet is Professor Dawnwhile in Purple the teacher is male and his name is Turo. In any case, both professionals are interested in the same phenomenon that starts our adventure, teracrystallizations. Albora has a design that refers to the past, while Turo is a more futuristic character. Clearly both titles play with the concepts of past and future, both in their legendary cover pokemon and in their teacher protagonists.

pokemon academies

Plateau City is the capital of both games., and there is the building of the Academy of Paldea. This is a prestigious school with many years of history where we have to register to polish and perfect our skills as a Pokemon Trainer. However, depending on the edition of the game we will have another name for the academy and also for the design of the shield.

  • In Pokemon Scarlet it is called Orange Academy and its shield has the homonymous fruit as its symbol.
  • In Pokémon Purple the shield is a bunch of grapes and the Academy is called the Grape Academy.
  • In both versions the director of the institution is Clavel, but his clothing will be different for each game. A small aesthetic detail regarding the design of the character, but that continues in the same line of the pokemon universe and its different games.

The protagonist’s uniforms

Like change the name and shield of the institution, and the director’s clothing, also the uniform of our protagonist will be different from one version to another. In Scarlet we will have an orange uniform and in Purple the purple color predominates in all school clothing.

Fortunately, and for greater variety in designs, both titles allow you to buy other clothing designs. Exploring the vast world of Pokemon without the possibility of equipping and dressing our protagonist as we like, was a negative point and from Game Freak and Nintendo they saw it beforehand.

The Scarlet and Purple Books

In the two new Pokemon games there are missions that are part of the so-called Legendary Path. This is a special investigation proposed by our friend Damián. In each version, this character has a copy of a book called the Scarlet Book or the Purple Book depending on the game.

In this curious book are achieved different events of the past and tell the development of an expedition. There we find sketches and photographs of different pokemon creatures. In the Scarlet Book the Longfang is described, and in the Purple Book the Ironfang. These two creatures are mysterious pokemons that appear in each game respectively. Both creatures are inspired by Donphan, and through these books and fragments you can learn more about them.

Which edition of Pokemon should I buy?

This is a question that only each player can answer. Both titles have exclusive creatures and the differences are purely aesthetic, except for the mysterious and exclusive creatures. Tastes are the key when choosing between one edition and another. This is a title that follows the same path of hours and hours of exploration, with specific differences that will make you want to have both to complete the pokedex 100%.
