Bandai Namco released a new game episode in My academic hero franchising in the form of My ultra impact heroa 3v3 fight Role playing game. Now, while they have done an excellent job with titles like Dragon Ball Legends, they’ve produced the occasional title in half which could probably take some work (spoiler: this title is one of the best games they’ve released in a while). In this article we will revision My Hero Ultra Impact and share our first impressions of the game.

An easy-going title that is well suited to gacha newbies

From revision, My Hero Ultra Impact looks pretty good and well designed right from the start. It is full of life and has a lot of content (since it was released in Japan a year ago and already has three million downloads). The game looks really cool. The game has a ton of game modes and manages to do quite well without introducing too many new or hard-to-understand elements.

However, this does not mean that elements are missing and this game is suitable for the more experienced gacha users. It is not difficult but there is a lot to do in the game. Overall, it’s a pretty relaxed title that doesn’t require a lot of attention from players.

The game begins with a basic tutorial that introduces players to combat. Also, it starts with unlimited free reps! Players can re-roll as many times as they want to select their best multi. The game guides you through the story as you learn various new things and take part in a series of battles.

Combat is turn-based and mostly automatic with no need for a lot of work other than tapping from time to time to set up your fighters. There is also an automatic option which will allow the game to automatically play without the players having to interact with it.

Experience a unique gacha game that takes care of its free-to-play players

For new players or those in need of a recap, there are Awakening Missions that have a number of tasks to guide players through the game and it is recommended that players stick to them for at least the first two levels.

The game has a lot of missions that players can unlock and progress. Missions are Main Mission, Level Up Missions, Unexpected Simulation Joint (USJ), Event, VE Tower and Ultra Arena. So there is quite a lot of content there to keep players busy. Aside from that, there is a lot more to explore such as the Dispatch, the gear shop, and the hero base

The game is actually very generous with its rerolls, so it’s a lot friendlier than most other gachas towards free-to-play players, and nothing is stuck behind a paywall. Players will have to grind resources, but this is standard for all gachas.

Overall, the gameplay is pretty solid if you like turn-based action. The game is really polished with some events going on at the moment too, so Bandai Namco is doing a decent job of running the game. Not many bugs or glitches were observed during a playthrough.

The game features stunning graphics along with simple controls

The game is very visually pleasing. Both 3D and 2D graphics are great and blend very well together. The details about the characters and just the details of the whole game look really good while the animations are jaw-dropping.

There have been some frame drops and small freezes here and there, but that varies from device to device. The audio is also decent enough with nothing to complain about. Sound effects, music and everything else is fine.

There isn’t much in the controls as most of the time players just have to click on the screen so there’s no reason to complain. The UI is fine too without anything really being too cramped. Everything fits well and looks really lively.

IAPs exist but do not hinder the free-to-play ecosystem

The game has no commercials, so the gaming experience remains uninterrupted. Although it has in-app purchases, the game has one of the best gacha systems around with rerolls. The only problem here was the unfortunate rates they weren’t the best and could be improved. As previously mentioned, this game is much friendlier to free-to-play players than most other gacha titles out there.

Final verdict

My Hero Ultra Impact is a pretty good game and one of Bandai Namco’s best ever. It has good turn-based gameplay, a nice story to play with, and has most of its mechanics fixed. He doesn’t really bring anything new to the table and might seem a little bland to some, but he’s still good at what he does. Anyone who is a fan of MHA and gachas should try this game firsthand.

The only issues were with the pity rates and although the game is F2P compatible, that road isn’t an easy one either. That said, this game works well as a content-rich freemium RPG.
