Pokémon Unite recently added a new mechanic to the game called Upgrade emblems. Similar to Runes system in the game League of Legends, emblems are small, medal-like items that increase Pokémon stats and include bonus effects that increase things, such as a Pokémon’s attack speed or resistance to crowd control. This Pokémon Unite guide will tell you how to get Boost emblems, how the emblems work, and how to use them.

How to get Boost Emblems in Pokémon Unite

Boost emblems can be obtained in two different ways:

  • The season pass
  • Energy rewards

The Season Pass rewards players with a different item each time they level up. These rewards include items such as Aeos Tickets, Item Upgrades, and Upgrade Badges. To level up the Season Pass, players can play as many games as possible, so they can claim the Upgrade Emblems. This method is not suggested, as most of the Seasonal Pass award-winning emblems are quite weak and of low rarity.

The other (preferred) method of obtaining Boost Emblems is to use the Energy Rewards system. Whenever a player makes matches he gains “energy”, with enough energy, players can acquire a random Boost Emblem. There’s a 88% chance to get a bronze emblem together with a 10% chance to get a silver emblem it’s a 2% chance to get a gold emblem. Players must remember to log in every day, as the first Energy Reward per day is free!

How power-up emblems work in Pokémon Unite

Emblems have two effects on Pokémon, which include theirs ‘singular’ effects it’s theirs ‘color group’ effects. Each individual emblem has two stat changes on a Pokémon, one will decrease a Pokémon’s stats, while the other change will increase a Pokémon’s stats in return. With higher rarity, the amount of stats in the decrease / increase of the emblem will be greater.

For example, a bronze emblem of the Bulbasaur will reduce a Pokémon’s health by 30, but providing 1.5 special attacks in return, a silver Bulbasaur emblem will reduce a Pokémon’s health by 40, providing 2.5 special attacks in return. A gold Bulbasaur emblem will reduce a Pokémon’s health by 50, providing 3 special attacks in return. These individual emblem effects can alter the following stats:

  • HP
  • attack
  • Defence
  • sp. attack
  • sp. def
  • Speed
  • Critical success rate

These individual effects currently have little effect on Pokémon. Therefore, the color group bonuses should take priority, as the most notable of these stats is the critical hit rate. Characters with a high attack such as Absol And Cinderella benefit greatly from it.

The other effects are the ‘color group’ effects. One or two color effects are assigned to each emblem. When a number of emblems of a specific color are assigned to a Pokémon, it will receive a bonus of some kind. The effects of Boost Emblems include the following:

Color Quantity Special effect
x2 + 1% Sp. Att
Green x4 + 2% Sp. Att
x6 + 4% Sp. Att
x3 + 4% out of combat movement speed
Yellow x5 + 6% out of combat movement speed
x7 + 12% out of combat movement speed
x3 + 2% attack speed
Red x5 + 4% attack speed
x7 + 8% attack speed
x2 + 2% Defense
Blue x4 + 4% Defense
x6 + 8% Defense
x2 + 1% HP
White x4 + 2% HP
x6 + 4% HP
x3 + 2% reduction in the cooldown of moves
Black x5 + 4% reduction in the cooldown of moves
x7 + 8% reduction in the cooldown of moves
x2 + 1% attack
Orange x4 + 2% Attack
x6 + 4% Attack
x2 + 2% Sp. Def
Viola x4 + 4% Sp. Def
x6 + 8% Sp. Def
x3 -4% duration of the obstacle effect
Rose x5 -8% duration of the obstacle effect
x7 -16% duration of the obstacle effect

Duplicate copies of an emblem will not count towards color bonuses. Players should remember that more bonuses will be awarded for using more of each consecutive emblem color. This may sometimes be better to use more than one color, rather than balancing the color bonuses.

Boost Emblems: how to update

Our Pokémon Unite upgrade emblem guide will also discuss how they can be upgraded when there are three copies of the same rarity along with 100 Eo coins. For example, three bronze emblems and 100 Aeos coins can merge into one silver emblem, and 100 Aeos coins with 3 silver emblems will merge into one gold emblem.

Casting into a gold emblem may not be successful. If it fails, the Insignias will be refunded, but the Aeos Coins will remain spent. Upgrade Emblems can be updated by doing the following:

  • Players must go to the manager’s profile, then select “Pokémon Boost Emblems”.
  • They can highlight an emblem in the collection by selecting it.
  • They can hit the update button in the lower right corner.

Pokémon Unite Enhancement Emblems: Sample Build

Below are three example builds, which show an idea of which emblem choices should be used. The first build is an example of a standard build for special attackers. This build is the most useful currently because the amount of cooldown reduction provided by black emblems combined with high special attacks allows Pokémon to like Delfox or Pikachu become powerful.

The second build is an example of a standard build of a physical attacker. This build focuses less on color bonuses and more on increasing the critical hit rate stat, as it provides a great advantage to characters who are dependent on basic attacks such as Cinderella And Greninja.

The third build is an example of a standard tank build. This build focuses on increasing HP through color bonuses, as white emblems provide a large amount of health. The purple emblems are used against the frequent use of Special Attackers in the current meta, with some special defenses.

Final thoughts

Players can hope that this guide will provide some information on how to use these new emblems! Players can’t wait to see how this system evolves over time and the many interesting ways these emblems are used in the metagame!
