After seemingly endless speculation from fans, Epic has announced that Fortnite Chapter 2 is coming to an end. This is going to be a jaw-dropping and unique final event, and we have all the details on how you can participate.
When does the event start?
Mark your calendars, players. This event starts on December 4th at 1pm. PT / 4pm ET, regardless of which platform you are playing on. This is a unique event, so if you want to see it all, you need to be there on time. In fact, you should probably queue for a half hour or so just to make sure you get in without delay.
What is the event about?
Epic has confirmed both the existence and the start date of this final event. Beyond that, however, they are very cautious about what this ending will entail.
For example, the event is called The End, but no one knows if it simply refers to the end of Chapter 2 or something a little more creepy. And it seems likely that players will say goodbye to the old island (as they did at the end of Chapter 1) and say goodbye to a brand new island, but that’s just speculation at this point.
The lack of details has led players to speculate on the little information we have. An example: If you look closely at the art, “The End” seems to have an upside-down ground embedded in the words. Since players have long speculated that the upcoming island (rumored to be called Artemis) will somehow be the flip side of the current island (called Apollo), some think this flipped terrain helps verify rumors.
What to do before The End
In short? We don’t know much about what this ending is. But we know a lot about what you should do before that day.
First, make sure you log in before the final event. Epic has promised 225,000 XP as a gift to anyone who logs in before The End, and that’s in addition to giving these players a special loading and wrapping screen.
Secondly, try to complete all the challenges you are working on. This includes battle pass rewards, Queen Cube challenges, and everything in between. Everything gets blocked once The End arrives, so time is running out for you to finish everything you need to finish.
Finally, now is the time to spend your gold and get extra XP! Many items will be half-priced so you can spend your gold before the end. And between November 26 at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET and November 29 at 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET, you can earn extra XP for the last upgrade weekend before the end.
