Today, Realme announced the GT Neo 5 duo in China, and one of the versions comes with a blazing 240W charging speed. It’s the fastest in the world, and Realme has confirmed that it will hit the global market as early as this month.

However, the phone to take the new tech out of China will be the Realme GT3 instead of the Neo 5. It’s possible that the company could just rebrand the phone, but that hasn’t happened between the Neo and the mainline GT so far. series, so overseas markets may receive a different device.

Realme GT3 will arrive this month with 240W charging

To enable 240W charging, the company designed a custom 12A charging cable and a 240W GaN dual mini charger. The GaN part is pretty big because a standard 240W charger would be absurdly large.

The GT Neo 5 comes with a 4,600mAh battery and odds are that at least that bit will be shared with the Realme GT3. Realme claims to have implemented more than 60 levels of protection and that this is the first battery that supports more than 200W of charging certified by TUV Rheinland for longevity. In theory, it should retain 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which is pretty impressive.
