Qualcomm has announced its latest Snapdragon X75 modem for vehicles, PCs, industrial IoT and Snapdragon X72 modems for mobile devices. Both are ready to support 5G Advanced, defined by the San Diego company as “the next phase of 5G”.
The modems have 10-carrier aggregation and support 10Gbps downlinks in both Wi-Fi 7 and 5G.
Qualcomm’s sixth generation antenna-modem solution uses a new architecture and introduces a new QTM565 mmWave antenna module that reduces cost, board complexity, hardware footprint, and power consumption. Battery life is further extended by Qualcomm 5G PowerSave Gen 4 and Qualcomm RF Power Efficiency Suite.
Commercial devices with the new Snapdragon modems are expected to launch by the end of 2023.
