While we wait for the global release of the iQOO 12 series, the company has announced that it will get rid of the annoying bloatware with the arrival of Funtouch OS 14, based on Android 14. The new version of the software was announced a couple of months ago and has also shared a list of devices eligible for the update.
Anyone who has used Funtouch OS knows that iQOO likes to include a number of “Hot Apps” and “Hot Games” with its devices out of the box. With the future of Futnouch OS 14, there will be none left. In other words, iQOO is getting rid of bloatware.
Furthermore, the company confirms that the iQOO 12 series will be eligible for three major OS updates and 4 years of security patches. A fairly solid commitment even if not quite up to par with Samsung, OnePlus and Google, who have even longer support.
Either way, it’s a step in the right direction, so we won’t complain. After all, iQOO is still making a name for itself, and once it has more money, it will likely redirect some of its resources to keeping its phones updated longer.
