Canalys has released its quarterly report on the global PC market and the results offer a glimmer of hope after a difficult start to the year. According to the data, 65.5 million PCs were shipped between July and September 2023, which is 6.7% less than the same period last year, but nowhere near the 30% annual decline recorded in first quarter of 23.
Major players such as Lenovo, Dell, Apple and Asus have shipped fewer units year-on-year, but the most important finding is that they have all managed to clear out inventories and are in a better financial position, recording sequential growth in shipments, even after taking the question into account. driven by the education sector which occurs in the second quarter.
