In the last week of March, Amazon Germany offered a free storage upgrade for the Galaxy A55, so the 128GB and 256GB models both cost the same: €480. That’s over now, but the two versions cost less .

The 256 GB model has dropped to 460 euros and now buying the 128 GB one really makes sense given that its price has dropped to 400 euros. The Galaxy A55 has a microSD slot, so it’s easy to add more storage if you need it. The A55 has a premium build, great battery life, and the Samsung/AMD chipset is fast and stable under sustained load.

There is also the Samsung Galaxy A35. It has the same display (Gorilla Glass Victus+ and all), but uses the older Exynos 1380 chipset. And the 128GB model only has 6GB of RAM, you have to upgrade to the 256GB version if you want 8GB of RAM (which is a a little expensive at the moment). Other than that, the two phones are more similar than different.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is advertised as an alternative to the A55 in some regions, but it doesn’t work in Germany. The 128GB model costs €160 more than the A55 and, in our opinion, the extra performance of the Exynos 2200 is not worth it. Poor battery life is one of the major drawbacks, and the 10MP 3x telephoto lens doesn’t quite make up for it.

The Realme 12 Pro+ is one to check out if zooming on a budget is something you want. It has a 3x periscope (71mm) with a 64MP sensor at the back. 3x shots look great in almost all lighting conditions, 6x shots are fine, but you need a steady hand. In any case, Realme also offers a 50 MP main camera (1/1.56”, OIS) and an 8 MP ultra wide angle (112°), as well as a 32 MP selfie camera (22 mm lens). It features a 6.7″ FHD+ AMOLED display at 120Hz, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

The Honor 90 Lite costs half as much, but boasts a 100MP main camera. It is also responsible for the zoom, since there is no dedicated telephoto lens. This phone has a 6.7-inch 90Hz (FHD+) IPS LCD display and a Dimensity 6020 for 5G connectivity, as well as a 4,500mAh battery with 35W fast charging. We almost didn’t mention the ultra camera 5MP wide-angle, but barely worth mentioning.

Amazon is offering a strange combination: Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 or Tab A9+ with a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro 2. You can get the tablets alone for €100 less, but the headphones cost €140 alone, so there are some savings to be had. There are versions with Wi-Fi and with cellular connectivity, but keep in mind that the plus model has 5G, while the regular A9 only has 4G.

The Lenovo Legion Go takes the Ryzen Z1 Extreme we saw in the Asus ROG Ally, but makes the controllers detachable like on the Nintendo Switch. Plus, this packs an 8.8-inch LCD with QHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, so it’s ahead of the Aly.
