OnePlus held a big event in China today where we saw the announcement of the OnePlus 11, but that wasn’t the only new hardware at the event. We also have the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 wireless earphones which offer better noise cancellation, Dolby Atmos spatial audio and sound tuning by Dynaudio.

Launch of OnePlus Buds Pro 2 in China

The Buds Pro 2 are the successors to last year’s Buds Pro and offer the same basic design with a two-tone finish on the buds and a matte charging case. The buds reuse the same 11mm dynamic drivers and 6mm planar diaphragm drivers. The earphones support Bluetooth 5.3, and their ANC should drown out up to 48dB of outside noise. There are three microphones on each earbud for optimal voice capture and noise cancellation.

The Buds Pro 2 supports AAC, SBC and LC3 codecs at launch, while support for the LHDC 5.0 audio codec for streaming Hi-Res audio over Bluetooth will come in a future software update. There’s a low latency mode of 54ms for gaming and some nice features for ColorOS 11 devices like posture and cervical spine pressure monitoring. The new Oppo and OnePlus devices will also support dual connection and easy switching between devices.

OnePlus claims the Buds Pro 2 can last up to 39 hours in the charging case with ANC off. The case can be charged wirelessly via any Qi charger or wired via USB-C.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is available in black and green colors and retails for CNY 899 ($130) in China. Open sales begin January 9, with international pricing and availability details to be revealed on February 7.
