It’s not the delay the game deserves, but maybe it’s the delay the game needs right now? Developer WB Games Montréal has confirmed that the next-generation Batman game Gotham Knights has been postponed to 2022.

The news comes courtesy of a tweet from the official Gotham Knights account. In the tweet, they thanked the fans for their support and promised that they would take more time so they can “deliver the best possible experience to the players.”

While it’s good they’re not rushing this title, the news of the delay is still disappointing. Fans are thrilled with this game because it is an open world game with a shocking twist: Batman is apparently dead and it is up to his helpers and allies to fight off various baddies and save the city.

To this end, the game will allow players to take control of iconic characters such as Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing and Little Red Riding Hood. And while we’re pretty confident Batman isn’t really dead, the idea of playing these other characters instead of the familiar Dark Knight is downright exciting.

Do you think the game will be worth the wait? And which character will you play first? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
