Test summary

Pros

  • Smooth when browsing and playing
  • No frame drops are visible during the game
  • Well managed motion blur

Cons

  • Low brightness when watching HDR10 content
  • Too weak to read comfortably at night (0 lux)
  • On the outside, a visible reddish cast

The Realme GT Neo 2 5G works quite well as a gaming device, with smooth touch and proper daytime readability and color reproduction. However, the device lacks brightness when playing HDR10 video and users may want to manually increase it to improve visual comfort.

In terms of color, a slight desaturation and a slight pink cast are visible on the skin tones in the indoor photos. On the outside, the images have a reddish cast.

The bottom left graph confirms the noticeable desaturation of skin tones on the Realme GT Neo 2 5G. The center of each circle is the target color; The further the arrowhead is outside the circle, the more users will notice the difference between the color on the display and the original color of the source material. The scatter chart on the right shows the Realme device’s pink-blue oscillations when held at different angles, which appear almost iridescent on the screen.

The brightness of the Realme GT Neo 2 5G is too low when watching HDR10 content, with an overall contrast too high, thus making dark details difficult to see. Also, the colors are overly saturated and a visible reddish cast affects the skin tone rendering.

The Realme GT Neo 2 5G exhibits some frame drops at 30fps and 60fps, but no frame drops are visible during games; Furthermore, it does not show duplication of frames and appears sharp on moving objects. After skipping forward or backward in the timeline, the GT Neo 2 5G pauses before resuming video playback.

The Realme GT Neo 2 5G is accurate when zooming in the gallery app, although the zoom is limited. The fluidity of the device during the game is satisfactory.

The Realme device handles flicker well. It does respond to some phantom touches from time to time, but overall it handles them well.
