Vivo has announced three new members in its mid-range S series with the S18, S18 Pro and S18e, launching today in China. The S18 and S18 Pro share the same curved display design with the Pro offering more powerful cameras and the Dimensity 9200+ chipset compared to the S18’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The S18e sports a Dimensity 7200 and a 6.67-inch flat AMOLED display.

The S18 series features an eye-catching design with brocade elements engraved on the rear glass. You’ll also immediately notice the large camera island divided into two squares with the top half housing the cameras while the bottom features the AuraLight LED and a dedicated LED flash. AuraLight is programmable with different light intensities and temperatures that adapt to the shooting scenario.

The S18 Pro’s camera setup includes a 50 MP main camera with a 1/1.49-inch Sony IMX920 sensor and OIS, a 50 MP ultrawide lens with a Samsung JN1 sensor, and a 12 MP telephoto module with 2x optical zoom The S18 features a 50MP OmniVision OV50E main shooter with OIS and an 8MP OmniVision OV08D10 ultrawide lens.

Both vivo S18 and S18 Pro feature 6.78-inch curved AMOLED displays with 1,260 x 2,800 px resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The panels come with a punch-hole for the 50 MP front camera that boasts a field of view of 90 degrees and automatic focus. The selfie cameras are also joined by dual soft LED flash sensors.

The two phones carry different chipsets with the S18 Pro opting for MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200+ paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The S18 gets Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and is also configurable with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The S18 series boots OriginOS 4 based on Android 14 and features 5,000mAh batteries with 80W fast charging.

vivo S18 and S18 Pro are available in black, green and silver. Pricing for the S18 starts at CNY 2,299 ($322) for the 8/256GB trim and goes up to 2,999 CNY ($420) for the 16/512 GB version.

vivo S18 Pro starts at CNY 3,199 ($448) for the 12/256 GB version and above CNY 3,699 ($518) for the 16/512 GB version.

Open sales for the vivo S18 in China begin on December 22, while the S18 Pro will be available from January 13.

Unlike the other two members of the S18 series, the vivo S18e has a 6.67-inch flat AMOLED with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The punch-hole cutout houses a 16MP front camera while the rear carries a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.

Here you get a Dimensity 7200 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage. The device boots OriginOS 4 based on Android 14 and features a 4,800mAh battery with 80W charging.

vivo S18e is available in black, silver and purple. Price starts from CNY 2,099 ($294) for the 12/256 GB trim e CNY 2,299 ($322) for the 12/512 GB model. Sales opening in China on January 13th.
