The vivo X Flip is expected to become the next foldable clamshell smartphone, with a launch planned for this quarter. Previous reports suggested the outer screen would be a rectangle, positioned vertically below the camera island, and today a new schematic reveals more details.

The phone will follow the design language of the X90 series, with the aluminum sliver, which will be the hinge of the X Flip case. The external screen will be 682 pixels wide and there will be only two cameras, with enough space for the ZEISS branding.

The internal screen will be 1080 pixels wide, which is somewhat expected – Samsung, Oppo and Motorola all have Full HD+ panels on their foldable foldables too, with only Huawei offering slightly larger screens with higher ppi density.

The volume rocker is pictured on the right side, with the power key at the bottom visibly level with the side, meaning it will house a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Even the dual camera setup is hardly a surprise. While having multiple cameras sounds good in theory, it would significantly reduce sensor size and ultimately degrade camera performance for most scenarios.
