According to the latest data, Honor was the leader in foldable smartphone shipments in China for the July-September period Omg relationship. Honor rose to an impressive 28% market share during the third quarter period, overtaking Huawei which came in second with a 26% share of the Chinese foldable market.
Honor has overtaken Huawei as the foldable device leader in China
The Honor Magic V2 was the key factor, gaining a 25% market share alone, while total shipments of Honor foldable devices for the period were 1.7 million units. Omdia estimates that Honor has shipped over 800,000 units of the Magic V2 in China since its launch in late July.
Samsung (19%) and Oppo (11%) complete the top four brands by foldable market share, while vivo (10%), Xiaomi (5%) and Motorola (1%) occupy the remaining positions in the top 7 of the list . Honor is also said to launch a flip-style foldable phone in the first quarter of 2024 which, when paired with an attractive starting price, could further extend the brand’s reign at the top of the foldable phone segment in China.
