With the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 due to launch later this month, we can now expect some last-minute leaks and spec clarifications. According to a longtime whistleblower Ice universe which holds a solid track record in Samsung leaks, Galaxy Z Fold5 will Not launch with an IP58 dust and water resistance rating.
Ice Universe’s latest tweet comes after a recent report that suggested the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 will launch with an IP58 rating which would be a first for foldable phones. Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices will likely retain the IPX8 rating for water resistance found on their predecessors.
In addition to denying the IP58 rating rumors, the tipster suggest that the crease on the inner panel of Z Fold5 will be the same as that of Z Fold4 stating that the crease looks “indistinguishable” between the two devices.
