After all, yesterday’s leak was accurate: Today, at the iPad event, Apple unveiled its latest stylus, which it calls the Apple Pencil Pro.

As we mentioned in the leak post a few hours ago, the name is certainly justified, given that this stylus has many more features than any other stylus that preceded it in Apple’s stable. The Apple Pencil Pro has haptic feedback, as well as squeeze and rotate gestures.

With compression, a tool palette will appear to let you quickly change tools, line weights, and colors. The rotation gesture gives you precise control of the tool you’re using: rotating the barrel changes the orientation of the shaped pen and brush tools, as if you were using pen and paper. The roll gesture is enabled by a stylus-mounted gyroscope.

With the hover gesture, you can see the exact orientation of a tool before using the stylus on the iPad, and haptic feedback provides gentle confirmation when you press, double-tap, or snap to a smart shape.

Apple Pencil Pro also supports Find My, so you can always locate it if you happen to misplace it. It pairs, charges, and stores on the side of the new iPad Pro via a magnetic interface.

The stylus is available for $129. The Apple Pencil (USB-C) will remain on sale for $79.
